EAA Exam Results: When and How to Check
Checked against official sources: 11 Oct 2026. Rules, fees and dates change, so confirm anything time-sensitive on eaa.org.hk.
Your result slip is the document you send to the Estate Agents Authority (EAA) with your licence application, and the online result is the first place you see your Part I and Part II marks. This guide covers when each comes out, how to check online, what each result means, and what to do after a pass or a fail. Everything is from the EAA’s Examination Handbooks (paper-based and computer-based editions, August 2026), checked on 11 Oct 2026.
When results come out
| Paper-based (EAQE and SQE) | Computer-based SQE | |
|---|---|---|
| At the end of the exam | Nothing | A provisional result on screen, which you sign to accept |
| Result Release Date | 14th working day after the exam | 7th working day after the exam |
| Result slip | Mailed by surface mail on the Result Release Date | Mailed by surface mail on the Result Release Date |
| Online check | From the Result Release Date, for one month | From the Result Release Date, for one month |
The on-screen result at a computer-based SQE is for reference only. The result printed on the slip is final. If the PEAK Exam Centre is closed on the Result Release Date because of bad weather or “Extreme Conditions”, results come out on the next working day (Paper-based Examination Handbook, Appendix 6, section H, para 8).

How to check your result online
- Go to the PEAK Exam Centre website, www.vtc.edu.hk/cpdc, within one month of the Result Release Date.
- Enter your candidate number (printed on your Admission Form) and the first four digits of your identification document number.
- You see your result and your marks in Part I and Part II. Candidates with a mark penalty see their marks only on the slip.
Results appear online only if you did not object to online posting. There is no result enquiry by telephone, email or in person at PEAK or the EAA (handbook para 10.2 and 10.3). Keep your candidate number private: with the first four digits of your ID, it is all anyone needs to see your result.
What your result means
A result is one of five: Pass with Commendation, Pass, Fail, Absent or Disqualified. Absent and disqualified candidates get no marks (handbook para 10.2).
| Exam | To pass you need at least | Marks per question |
|---|---|---|
| SQE | 48/80 in Part I and 12/20 in Part II | 2 |
| EAQE | 36/60 in Part I and 24/40 in Part II | 2 |
The trap: a good total can still fail
Worked example (fictional)
Ada sits the paper SQE. She scores 58/80 in Part I (72.5%) and 10/20 in Part II (50%). Her total is 68/100, or 68%.
Her result is Fail. Part II needed at least 12/20, so she was one question short, whatever her total.
If your result slip does not arrive
- Contact the PEAK Exam Centre if the slip has not arrived 3 working days after the Result Release Date.
- Apply for a re-issued slip within two months of the Result Release Date, with the re-issue application form and a copy of your ID document, by post or in person.
- Slips returned by Hongkong Post and never collected are destroyed two months after the Result Release Date.
- The EAA generally keeps results for two years, so keep your slip safe (handbook para 11.3).
After a pass
A pass is valid for a licence application for 12 months from the date you pass (handbook para 2.2). An EAQE pass lets you apply for an estate agent’s licence (individual) or a salesperson’s licence. An SQE pass leads to a salesperson’s licence only. A pass is not a licence: you still need to be 18 or over, have Form 5 education or its equivalent and be fit and proper (para 10.4). The steps and fees are in how to become an estate agent in Hong Kong.
Licensed on a pass from an exam after 1 January 2025? The EAA’s Mandatory CPD Scheme (Phase 1) applies to you (para 1.3).
After a fail
You can register again for the next sitting; the handbooks set no waiting period after a fail. The one limit is that you may sit the SQE only once in a calendar month (para 5.1). The paper SQE runs about every one to three months and the computer-based SQE more often.
Use your two part marks. If Part II let you down, spend most of your time on land searches and case studies: start with Part II land searches and case studies, then sit our free mock, which marks each part against 60%. In 2025 about two in three paper SQE candidates failed (see the pass rates), so a fail is common and fixable.

Frequently asked questions
When are EAA exam results released?
Result slips are mailed on the 14th working day after a paper-based SQE or EAQE and on the 7th working day after a computer-based SQE (EAA Examination Handbooks, Aug 2026). The computer-based SQE also shows a provisional result on screen.
How do I check my SQE or EAQE result online?
On the PEAK Exam Centre website (www.vtc.edu.hk/cpdc), within one month of the Result Release Date, with your candidate number and the first four digits of your ID document number. There is no enquiry by phone or email.
What score is a Pass with Commendation?
The EAA handbooks list Pass with Commendation as a result but do not publish the mark needed for it (as at Oct 2026). A pass itself needs 60% in Part I and in Part II.
How long is an EAA exam pass valid?
12 months from the date you pass, for a licence application (EAA Examination Handbooks, Aug 2026, para 2.2). After that you must pass the exam again before applying.
